Goal

Boost conversions for our premium service, Epic! Unlimited, right after a parent and child share their first book.

Our challenge?

Onboarding engages both parent and child. Parents start the journey—creating accounts, setting up their child, and choosing their first book—our best chance to win them over.

We did a bit of competitive testing with three versions to see which resonated with readers the most.

Tested Versions:

Variant A

Hypothesis:

By using celebrations, familial imagery, and an intriguing Epic! statistic, we can pique excitement around what Epic! has to offer in order to convert users.

Variant B

Hypothesis:

By highlighting the badged earned and informing both parent and child that they can earn additional badges, we can drive interest in Epic! Unlimited subscriptions.

Variant C

Hypothesis:

By highlighting relevant premium books that the parent and child can read in Epic! Unlimited, we can drive up the rate of upgrades to Unlimited.
